From being physically and emotionally hurt, she had to find her old self and learn to accept what has happened. The world was looking for someone to blame and unfortunately, Valerie had to suffer to overcome this burden.

The world right now hates her for something that she did not do. Valerie Leftman is a senior in high school returning from a tragedy. Sure it unsettled me because it brought back bad memories, but it helped me heal with the main character, Valerie Leftman. I spent thirteen bucks on something I didn't know a thing about and I'm glad I did. I did not read the back of the book nor read a few pages to see if I liked it. When I first got this book, I did not know what this was about. I'm happy to say that Jennifer Brown has written a book that can strongly evoke strong feelings. Hate List has made me cry, laugh, and remember things that I hide from myself, sort of healing my past self that still lives in pain.

I almost decided to not finish reading the book but I finished it to overcome the past. At first, it unsettled me from the similarities to an old friend of mine. Five days ago I began to read the Hate List by Jennifer Brown.
